City of Jeseník
The City of Jeseník was founded more than 800 years ago and it is a significant tourist centre in the Jeseníky Mountains. Apart from the natural resources, it is well known for its spa named after Vincenz Priessnitz, a famous native and a founder of modern hydrotherapy. InfoPanels represent a system of outdoor electronic information and advertising panels used for the presentation of information and promotion of tourism. The solution is used for interactive display of facts about the City of Jeseník, its partner city – Glucholazy, information about the city history, maps, contacts, tips for trips, accommodation in the city and its surroundings and so on. There are four arrow buttons and a confirmation button installed for the interaction of the kiosk with the user (the information kiosk is completely controlled by the buttons). In case of a longer period of inactivity, the information kiosk automatically switches to the economical mode: it saves the cost of energy and prolongs the operating life of the hardware. |

City of Šumperk
The City of Šumperk lies in the picturesque valley of the Desná River, protected by the Jeseníky mountain range in the north. The city is an administrative, political and economic centre of northwest Moravia. The City of Šumperk is one of the access gates to the Jeseníky Mountains, which are divided into two parts: Hrubý and Nízký Jeseník. Šumperk is called the “Jeseníky Gate” as it lies on the crossroads leading to the most important mountain bases: Skřítek, Červenohorské sedlo, Ramzová and the foot of Kralický Sněžník.
Beskydská a Jesenická magistrála
The projects of the Beskydy and Jeseníky Artery are implemented by the Moravian-Silesian Region and its partners and it is co-financed by the European Union. They focus on the promotion of cross-country skiing, cycling tourism and active leisure in Beskydy or Jeseníky. The main idea is to connect groomed cross-country skiing trails in the entire Beskydy Mountains and Jeseníky Mountains including their use outside the winter season. The project solves the first stage of the artery system where users are offered an orientation system in the form of an information system and provided inventory that contains all groomed ski trails in both mountain ranges. The project presents the basic prerequisite for the establishment of arteries that would be comparable to other arteries in the Czech Republic (Krkonošská, Jizerská, Šumavská). It provides an integrated product for the citizens of the North Moravian, Moravian-Silesian and Zlín regions and domestic and foreign tourists in Moravian-Silesian Beskydy and Jeseníky. |
The aim of the project is to increase the attractiveness of the regions for active leisure and to improve the quality of recreational sports infrastructure (cross-country skiing trails, cycling trails) in the most beautiful mountain ranges of the Czech Republic and to provide sufficient comfort to visitors for their winter and summer recreation in the abovementioned areas. One of the principal intentions is to further expand cross-country skiing and cycling among the general public of all age categories and to increase the number of visitors to the regions. It is expected that this project will be followed by other projects implemented by the Moravian-Silesian Region or other subjects that will continue in the activities set by the project and related to the coordination and promotion of the Beskydy and Jeseníky trails. |
